Fun Easter Basket Ideas For Toddlers

1. Fine Motor Chicken

First on this list of Easter basket ideas for toddlers is the Fine Motor Chicken. This toy is an excellent Easter-themed gift that has many benefits.

When playing with this toy, your child will learn things like shapes, colors, and sorting while developing their motor skills.

In addition to being cute, I love that the hen stores all of the eggs. Toys that have built-in storage are always fantastic!

2. Carrot Harvest Game

The carrot harvest game is another fantastic option when looking for Easter-themed toys.

To play Carrot Harvest, your toddler will have to match the correct carrot to the corresponding hole. This game is similar to a shape-sorter, only much more unique.

In addition to developing their fine motor skills, your toddler will also practice their hand-eye coordination and shape recognition.

3. Little People Cars

Little People toys are great for toddlers of any age. But, what I like most about these toys is that your toddler will have even more fun with them as they get older.

This Little People fire truck is terrific, whether it’s your child’s first Little People toy or simply an addition. It comes with two People and plays fun (not obnoxious) songs that your toddler will love.

4. Easter Books

If you’ve read some of my other holiday posts, you’ll notice that I love to get my toddler books related to holidays.

Holiday books are great for explaining the holiday a little better, plus they give us a bit of a break from the books we read regularly.

Here are our favorite Easter books for toddlers:

5. Sidewalk Chalk

Typically, the weather starts to get nice and sunny around Easter. That means it’s the perfect time to break out the sidewalk chalk!

When choosing sidewalk chalk, you can get regular chalk sticks, or you can get egg-shaped sidewalk chalk! It can be beneficial to get egg-shaped chalk if you have a younger toddler because they are easier to hold and harder to break!

6. Gardening Tools and Gloves

If you have a garden (or have been wanting to start one), or you have a patch of dirt in the yard, gardening supplies are wonderful Easter basket ideas for toddlers!

Starting your toddler off with simple tools like these ones will ensure that your toddler feels involved when you and your family are in the garden. Also, I love that this set comes with gloves to protect their hands from any pokey thorns.

7. Watering Can

Another fantastic gardening tool for toddlers is a watering can. What’s great about getting your child a watering can is that you don’t even have to have a garden.

Your child will love to water a pot of flowers or even the grass when they have their own watering can!

8. Hide N Squeak Eggs

Hide N Squeak Eggs are another simple and fun Easter gift for toddlers. Like the Fine Motor Chicken, this sorting game teaches your child to recognize colors and shapes.

But the fun thing about this toy is that the chicks inside the eggs make little squeaking sounds that your child will find hilarious! Not to mention, all of the pieces are stored inside the container, which is a great bonus!

9. Water Wow Book

When it comes to kids’ activities, I love having plenty of mess-free options with minimal setup. That’s one of the reasons why I love Water Wow books from Melissa and Doug.

Another reason I love these magic painting books is because they have prompts on each page. As your child paints the page to make things appear, they can find whatever objects were listed.

10. Bath Toys

Bath toys are always a great small gift for any holiday, but not just any bath toys. When shopping for bath toys, you’ll want to make sure that the ones you choose can’t hold any water inside to prevent mold from growing.

One of my son’s favorite bath toys is this set of silly cups. These bath toys suction to the bathtub wall, and your toddler can practice pouring water into them.

Each cup reacts differently when water is poured into it, and your toddler can experiment with stacking the cups above one another.

11. Stuffed Bunny

Next on this list of Easter basket ideas for toddlers is a stuffed bunny. Adding a cuddly bunny to your kiddo’s Easter basket is pretty standard, so if you’re looking for the perfect bunny, we suggest this one

This stuffed bunny is a Melissa and Doug toy, so it is of excellent quality. Not to mention it’s so cute and fluffy!

12. Bubbles or Bubble Machine

Bubbles wands are great toddler Easter basket ideas because they don’t take up much room in the basket. Plus, they provide such a simple activity to do outside!

If you want to get a little fancier with the bubbles, I suggest getting a bubble machine. Toddlers love bubble machines because they blow many bubbles at once, and your toddler can focus on popping them instead of blowing them. Plus, bubble machines can be fun to watch!

13. Playdoh

If your toddler is 2-years-old or older, I highly suggest getting some Playdoh for their Easter Basket. Playdoh is fantastic for encouraging creativity and imagination, plus it’s great for developing their fine motor skills!

If you’re unsure if your toddler will enjoy playing with Playdoh, you can start with a small pack of dough like this one. If you would instead get a Playdoh kit that has tools, this is a simple pack that my son loves.

14. A Small Puzzle

Puzzles are great for building your toddler’s focus and problem-solving skills. When looking for toddler puzzles, you don’t want them to be too hard or easy. That’s why this set of beginner jigsaw puzzles is perfect.

In this set, you’ll find six puzzles with different difficulty levels. The first puzzle has only three pieces for your toddler to practice with. Once they are ready, they can move up to the next puzzle, and by the end, they will have an eight-piece puzzle to do.

15. Fancy Outfit

If your family enjoys dressing up for Easter, put a new outfit in their Easter basket! The great thing about fancy outfits is that you can get however extravagant you want.

When it comes to dressing toddlers, I like finding outfits that look nice while still being comfortable and easy to wear. This outfit is a great option for boys, and this one is so adorable for girls!

16. Spring Pajamas

With the weather getting warmer around the time of Easter, adding new pajamas to your toddler’s Easter basket is a wonderful idea! Choosing pajamas that will keep your child cool for summer is even better.

When it comes to pajamas, we have always liked this brand. They fit well, come in many cute prints, and are very affordable!

17. Sunglasses

Eye protection is crucial during the warmer months. When buying sunglasses for toddlers, you want to make sure they stay on well and are long-lasting. We have these ones, and not only are they cute, but they are also very durable!

I will note that not all toddlers like wearing sunglasses. We got these sunglasses for our son when he was about 18-months-old, and he didn’t start to enjoy wearing them until he was a little over 2-years-old.

18. Sun Hat

Sun hats are another great Easter basket idea for toddlers because they have multiple benefits. They help keep the sun out of your child’s eyes, and they protect their head and neck from sun exposure.

We bought this sun hat for our toddler, and we have been able to get two years’ worth of use out of it so far. The quality and coverage are excellent, plus the prints that they come in are so fun.

19. Swim Suit

If your toddler has outgrown their swimsuit from the previous year, adding a new one to their Easter basket will ensure you have it when you need it.

For even more sun protection, I prefer to get my son a swimsuit like this one. In addition to the extra coverage, I love that the material dries reasonably quickly.

20. Sandals

As the weather gets warmer, it’s nice to have a new pair of sandals ready for your toddler. I always get my son these closed-toe sandals because they have plenty of support while protecting his toes.

21. Swim Shoes

If your child prefers to use swim shoes, a new pair is a great thing to add to their Easter basket. These swim shoes are great for toddlers as they are quick-dry and non-slip. Not to mention, they come in many cute prints, are budget-friendly, and are very highly rated!

22. Rain Boots

Because Easter is in the middle of the rainy season, rain boots make a fun Easter gift for toddlers. I don’t know about you, but my toddler loves to stomp in puddles. Having rain boots ready for those drizzly days helps to keep him dry and prepared for the fun!

These toddler rain boots come in many fun colors and patterns for girls and boys, plus they are the #1 best seller on Amazon!

23. Bunny Ears

Our last clothing-related easter basket idea for toddlers is bunny ears. Bunny ears are a classic gift idea that toddlers love to wear all day on Easter! Plus, they make for some adorable pictures!

24. Water Bottle

As Summer is quickly approaching, it’s terrific to have a decent-sized water bottle to ensure your toddler stays hydrated. My son uses this brand, and I love that they can close to prevent spills. Plus, the lid is easy enough for my toddler to open independently.

25. Sippy Cup

Sippy cups are also great Easter basket ideas for toddlers. When looking for sippy cups, you’ll want one that is good for your toddler’s teeth.

These 360 Miracle cups are lovely because they have no hard spout for your toddler to drink off of. They are essentially like drinking from a cup and can help get your toddler ready to switch to an open cup.

26. Utensils

Whether your toddler is just getting the hang of using utensils or they are a seasoned pro, a new pack of utensils will be a great Easter basket filler. We use these ones, and they are the perfect size for toddlers’ hands.

I also like that this pack of utensils includes a simple knife, which is perfect for your toddler to practice cutting things like bananas, with your supervision, of course.

27. Fun Plates

Using a silly plate can help picky eaters get excited about mealtimes. In addition, using a suction-cup plate like this one can help prevent plates from getting tossed to the floor.

28. Reusable Snack Containers

If your toddler is like mine, the snacks never end. Therefore, it’s nice to have reusable snack containers for them to use.

Not only are these reusable snack containers adorable, but they are dishwasher safe and zip closed, so you don’t have to worry about losing any lids. Plus, they are perfect for on-the-go snacks!

29. Snacks

Including snacks in your toddler’s Easter basket is perfect if you want to avoid adding candy.

The great thing about this Easter basket idea is that any snack your toddler loves will work! My toddler loves eating granola bars, so that’s a snack that I plan to add to his basket this year.

30. Toothbrush

A toothbrush also makes a great Easter basket filler for toddlers since it’s small in size. These toddler toothbrushes are great because they fit perfectly in small hands and have ultra-soft bristles.

The Best Easter Baskets (And Alternatives) Toddlers

If you already have an Easter basket from previous years or are looking for something other than the typical basket, you’re in luck. There are many unique options to choose from! Here are our top seven choices of Easter baskets for toddlers:

Egg Hunt Basket

Say you don’t already have an Easter basket at home; your kiddo will need one for their Easter egg hunt! This basket is great because it has plenty of space, and it’s durable, so it will last your child for years.

Rain Boots

If you enjoyed the idea of getting your child rain boots as suggested above, why not make them into your child’s Easter basket? Using rain boots as an Easter basket is great if you want to keep your kiddo’s gifts small.

Toy Basket

When you have children, you can never have too many storage containers. Using a small basket like this one is perfect for an Easter basket, as your child can use it to store toys or other items once Easter is over.

Dump Truck

If your child loves trucks, using this dump truck as an Easter basket will be exciting for them! This truck can hold a good amount of items, and it’s a perfect outdoor toy that any child would enjoy.

Sand Buckets

If your family frequently visits the beach, using sand buckets as Easter baskets is a terrific, multi-functional option. Plus, this pack of three is perfect if you have multiple children!

Wagon

My favorite alternative Easter basket idea is using a wagon. Now, if you think a wagon is too big to use as an Easter basket, keep in mind that you certainly don’t have to fill the whole thing.

For example, you can put some Easter grass in the bottom and then put your child’s gifts in the center of the wagon. I’m sure they’ll be too excited about the wagon to care if it’s full or not.

Jumbo Egg

Our final alternative Easter basket idea is this Jumbo Egg. These Jumbo Easter Eggs are 10″ tall, so they are another great alternative if you are trying to keep things small.
